Selenium worked ok when home assitant python was 3.10, now it is unable to be found #1853
Comments
Hi there – this looks like it might be an environmental issue caused by the AppDaemon addon. That is a separate project from AppDaemon itself, and if it has upgraded to python 3.11, and that has caused the issue you might want to check with the author of the addon.
AppDaemon itself runs happily on 3.8 upwards but we don’t impose any particular version, except that the current docker image is Alpine with a 3.10 python.

What happened?
I have a scraping app for taking the weather from wunderground for my area
It was previously running fine, when home assistant updated to python 3.11, the scraper stopped working.
I'm using selenium as a python package, and chromium and chromium-chromedriver as a system package
I apologise now if I've missed something but I've been researching this for weeks and I'm not getting it. I did notice it mentions alpine libraries 3.18 in the appdaemon logs.
I did attempt to find the system and python directories for appdaemon in homeassisant but couldn't see anything in the usr directory or elsewhere, I wanted to validate they were there as it's primarily complaining that it can't locate selenium driver dependencies.
I should mention I also get the Warning: Running pip as the root user... in case it is relevant and I've misunderstood.
thanks
