I have made an "Updater"-Function for another project of mine.
It will check a file hosted at github (this rep) and will then compare the versionnumbers and could then send a message to the server when the plugin has been enabled.
Should I implement it?

The Updater-Function has been committed. It should work, as I tested it on my localhost.
The version-file must be manually updated and must contain all version numbers with the new updater-function from now on, e.g.:

4.5
4.4
4.3

Older versions don't have to be there, because they have no updater-function.
