"Remember Me" check box on login does not do much to remember the login #1874

What is the difference between clicking the "Remember Me" check box before login and not clicking it? I don't seem to notice a difference.

This is a discussion, but I think that it may be a bug... if the "Remember Me" is supposed to extend the user session.
