Was scrolling through the AoA:M CurseForge page and saw this comment:

Hi! Are there any plans to add smaller vessel (for a volume of 300 lets say?). Right now I dont see any way to take some of essence from the tank - it makes tanks useless and there is no reason to fill them. Everytime Ill have to calculate everything and I guess it will be more fun to just take some of the essence from the tank ;)

Now I would agree that the point is to have difficulty in getting stuff going but requiring 4000 of something to get purity is an artifical hurdle that doesn't really make much sense, you can handle volumes as small as a quarter of that with buckets typically.
Further, it just gates doing stuff with purity to having a lot of essence.

This isn't a technical challenge.

I would propose adding 'vials', an item which is pretty much the same as a vessel but instead of having a quantity of 4000mB, a quantity of 500mB.

Does anyone have an opinion here?

Personally, i'd say the best way would be something like a valve pipe or a port that only opens while having a redstone signal and has a modest throughput, something like 10mb\t. That way one could utilize various signal length buttons, levers, timers etc. to properly mix stuff and even automate while enhancing the "alchemical laboratory" feel.
As it stands currently the mod is rather unopproachable with pointlessly giant tanks, no way to trash essentia and prohibitively limited internal tank of synth table combination of problems
