In essence, the mod does not explicitly need to render the stuff on the server. All it really does is tell the server that you are in a GUI, which GUI you are in, and the server tells the clients that you are in said GUI for them to render. So, why requiring an entire Fabric mod to handle just that? CPM has a Bukkit/Paper plugin that allows you to use most of the mod functionality on a vanilla-ish server. So does Simple Voice Chat and, iirc, PlasmoVoice. And your mod fits the "vanilla-like" aesthetic much more than a mod that lets you (visually) become a dragon or something, so i think making a plugin for vanilla-ish servers would be a welcome addition for its users. Potentially even allowing to use this mod on servers it wasn't designed for, like 1.16, with ViaVersion and a 1.20 client.
