XX.ExampleName

then inside each

XX.ExampleName/tests
XX.ExampleName/referenceData

This means renaming ditt to 22.RaytracedAO and moving the submodule to 22.RaytracedAO/referenceData

Then put the public scene render reference files next to the submodule
