    "### Preprocess Feature Columns\n",
    "\n",
    "As you can see, there are several non-numeric columns that need to be converted! Many of them are simply `yes`/`no`, e.g. `internet`. These can be reasonably converted into `1`/`0` (binary) values.\n",
    "\n",
    "Other columns, like `Mjob` and `Fjob`, have more than two values, and are known as _categorical variables_. The recommended way to handle such a column is to create as many columns as possible values (e.g. `Fjob_teacher`, `Fjob_other`, `Fjob_services`, etc.), and assign a `1` to one of them and `0` to all others.\n",
    "\n",
    "These generated columns are sometimes called _dummy variables_, and we will use the [`pandas.get_dummies()`](http://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/generated/pandas.get_dummies.html?highlight=get_dummies#pandas.get_dummies) function to perform this transformation.     "So far, we have converted all _categorical_ features into numeric values. For the next step, we split the data (both features and corresponding labels) into training and test sets. In the following code cell below, you will need to implement the following:\n",

    "## Training and Evaluating Models\n",
    "In this section, you will choose 3 supervised learning models that are appropriate for this problem and available in `scikit-learn`. You will first discuss the reasoning behind choosing these three models by considering what you know about the data and each model's strengths and weaknesses. You will then fit the model to varying sizes of training data (100 data points, 200 data points, and 300 data points) and measure the F<sub>1</sub> score. You will need to produce three tables (one for each model) that shows the training set size, training time, prediction time, F<sub>1</sub> score on the training set, and F<sub>1</sub> score on the testing set."

    "_To narrow down my choices from the variety of algorithims available in sklearn, here's the thought process followed:_\n",
    "\n",
    "- The goal is to predict a category, we have to use a classification algorithim.\n",
    "- The data available to us is relatively sparce with many features. This means we better stay away from neural networks since they might end up being hard to train.\n",
    "- Our data is numeric and not text based which means we won't benefit from using Naive Bayes as much.\n",
    "\n",

    "With the predefined functions above, you will now import the three supervised learning models of your choice and run the `train_predict` function for each one. Remember that you will need to train and predict on each classifier for three different training set sizes: 100, 200, and 300. Hence, you should expect to have 9 different outputs below — 3 for each model using the varying training set sizes. In the following code cell, you will need to implement the following:\n",
    "- Import the three supervised learning models you've discussed in the previous section.\n",

    "The chosen model for this project is one that implements a __Support Vector Machine__ (SVM) algorithim.\n",
    "\n",
    "Support Vector Machines can be used for Classification (labeling) or Regression (numeric) predications. Since we are trying to find out if an intervention is necessary or not, we will make use of specific type of SVMs called __Support Vector Classifier__ (SVC) to get the results we are looking for.\n",
    "\n",
    "The __SVM takes data about past students__ (age, gender, family, etc), and __uses them to create predictions about new student cases.__ These predictions are made by creating a function that draws a boundary between the students who graduated and those who did not. The boundary should be drawn so as to maximize the the space between itself and each of the classifications (graduation results), this space is called a \"margin\".\n",

    "The chosen model is called __Support Vector Machine__ (SVM). This algorithim works by trying to split the data in the cleanest way. This means that SVMs try to draw a line between different outcomes (aka Classifications) from the training data (aka student records available) in order to learn to predict the outcomes of a new student case.\n",
    "\n",
    "SVMs are a great choice when the resources are limited and the number of considerations (aka Features, ex: `absences`) in our data is relatively large. This is the case with in this project since the number of features is 40+ (after data processing) and the number of entries is 300+ which is relatively low. SVMs still however provide a quick training and prediction times compared to other algorithims that were considered."
