Add:

autopurge.snapRetainCount=3
autopurge.purgeInterval=1

to

/usr/local/zookeeper/conf/zoo.cfg

as noted here:

https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/trunk/zookeeperAdmin.html#sc_maintenance
