Hi,

I'm searching for an application that can toggle airplane mode for power saving in the F-Droid repository for a long time but i can't find an application like this in the F-Droid repo. Maybe you could implement a feature that toggle airplanemode on for (for example) 2 minutes each 15 minutes to do that. There is already the app BatteryFu, but that only toggle mobile internet and don't en- and disable SMS also, so changing the airplane mode would lead to a even better effect.

Please apologize if I have done some mistakes because English is not my mothertong.

Regards,

Hi,

This is an interesting idea, but I wonder if it's very effective with Doze Mode introduced with Android 6.0. Some benchmarks could answer this question but that means I need to implement this feature. And I'm not sure it's worth the cost.

I don't know. What would be the result? To be not reachable for two minutes every 15 minutes?
So if you write an email, you couldn't send it, because you're in the two minute time-frame. Or you doesn't get the response from your chat-partner in a messaging conversation.
In my eyes, Doze works great and with this app you could save power over night (or day, if you're a vampire).
Probably I just don't get the benefit of this suggestion, or get the whole thing wrong?

Hi, hope you don't mind me digging this old thread.

I have been looking for the same feature as @java-py-c-cpp-js for a long time and can't find any app offering this.

My use case would be to disable airplane mode for 1 minute every 20 minutes (or longer). This should save a lot of power, would show you missed calls and sms in the notification panel (or only calls if you filter them) when you pick it up while still making your phone a bit unusable. Every extra step required to make your phone usable again really helps to kick habits and use your phone healthily.

I don't see any way to actually cut your phone from using it while still receiving notifications. I often need to be able to call back if someone called but I just can't have my phone working in my pocket all the time with the notifications buzzing. And I can't turn it off because I use it to take notes.

To me this has always seemed to be the best way to use my phone healthily while still having it in my pocket all the time.
