Describe the bug
Installation of MF official release 10.4.0 installs a very old (more than six months) database.

Steps To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install MF10.4.0
  2. Open MF Connector
  3. Note no database update warning is given
  4. Note the Hubhop database date is 10/13/24
  5. Open a new input config
  6. Select vendor PMDG
  7. open aircraft menu
  8. Note only PMDG 737 and DC6 appear
  9. Note that PMDG 777 is not there and it was introduced over six months ago. The same can be found if we search for Inibuild aircraft.
  10. Update events from Hubhop
  11. Note now all aircraft events can be found.

Expected behavior
Mobiflight always ships with the latest updated database json file, or updates the database as part of the update procedure.

Actual behavior
Mobiflight often ships with outdated events database. The json file date is used as database date, which is wrong in this case.

Details

  • MobiFlight Version: 10.4.0
  • FlightSim: irrelevant
  • AddOn: irrelevant

Additional context
The shipped json file date is 13/Oct/24. Clearly, the json file date is not a reliable source for the database date.
A better solution would be for the json file to contain the date as part of the database or as a comment.
