Programatically changing a value of an element?

Is this possible?

I have some use-cases that I think are pretty common but the changes aren't applying.
My use-cases are

• Adjusting the border width to scale up/down depending on resolution
• Scaling font-sizes depending on resolution
• Changing borders of UITextBoxes depending on a certain condition

I would've thought I could do something like

dialogue = pygame_gui.elements.UITextBox(
     html_text='Hello <strong>sir!</strong>',
     relative_rect=pygame.Rect(x, y, width, height),
     manager=level.manager,
)

if some_bad_condition:
    dialogue.border_colour = 'red'

However, the border remains the original colour as defined in the theme.json.

What's the "correct" way of doing this?

For anyone else reading, I've hacked around this by doing the following

        self.text_box.update_theming(
            {
                "font": {"size": font_size},
                "colours": {"normal_border": portrait_map[self.portrait]['colour']}

            } # pyright: ignore
        )

This updates the theme on-the-fly to whatever values I specify. No idea if this is the correct thing to do but I'm doing it
