Given two identified nodes, return any subgraph path which connects them (by diverse, user set criteria of “similarity”?). Infer what kind of similarity metric is needed (by category types).
Connected nodes by any path

  • Similar genes
  • Similar diseases
  • Similar drugs / chemical compounds
  • Geometric structure
  • Same chemical family
  • Treats same disease
  • Targets same genes or pathways
  • Similar side effect profiles
    etc…

During the first hackathon I found that researchers used analogies prolifically (as well as generalizations which is what the hierarchical ontology is for). This would be quite helpful

it looks like the scope of KBA is increasing to be more like the biolink API?
