I use a simple, self-created two-column skin (with large Main2 icons) to store all my apps, shortcuts, folders, etc. in one place (around 400–500 items). It’s essentially my entire desktop and workflow.
Auto-open on hover fails
Menu that do not work while dragging:
The custom items menu in the second column (right panel)
Menus that work correctly:
Folder shortcuts that I pinned to the Start menu (like the Screenshots folder in the video)
The default “Programs” menu
I’ve tried many other skins as well, and I think I’ve found the root cause: when I uncheck the No icons in second column, the issue is fixed. This suggests that something related to displaying icons in the second column is preventing the auto-open behavior from working, regardless of which skin is used.
