Are there any possibilities to load custom Markers from an xml/json file.

I have a Database with locations that generates kml-files dynamically.

But to switch from Google to OSModul I have to use files generated out of this DB.

Thank you.

Hi @merlink01,
At the moment, the only way is to write a script, which converts your markers to the OSModul syntax. There are no imports functions in OSModul jet. Maybe I can write some import functionalities later, but I'm very busy these days.

Best regards
Martin

I can wait.

Import of these data would be great to have in the future.
Thank you.

Hi!
I would be interested by the same import feature as I am currently using a text file where lies all my markers and content and would like OSModul to load the data from there. How can we get that started?
You're mentioning a script could do it, could you be more specific?

Thank you very much.

Hi!
I think it would really be a wonderful new feature. I test something with the JEM component and write a script to import in OSModul, longitude and latitude from venues of actives events.
You can see my post and download my script here : https://www.joomlaeventmanager.net/forum/jem-2-1-x-for-joomla-2-5-joomla-3-community-support/9451-google-maps-for-all-events?start=6#24006
And here is the file :
writeOsModul.php.txt

Best regards.

Hi @Schlumpf ,

now will be a good time to think about implementing this.

Google changes their free googlemaps model to a paid one:
https://venturebeat.com/2018/05/02/google-maps-platform-arrives-with-pay-as-you-go-billing-free-support-and-cloud-requirement-starting-june-11/

I think many users are willing to change now.

If I can help, please tell me.
But javascript is not my preferred language ;-)
