Project Porcupine has Moved #1800
Comments
Hi, I lately found the tutorials and am still watching them and just came here and wondered why you forked/moved this repository. Will this repo be abandoned and or will the development drift toward two different versions of Porcupine?
Didn't say very much. You don't have to rename/move your company if you have a new CEO? Thanks in advance for a clarification. |
Sorry for the confusion basically the old manager quill18, had a lot on his plate and so he couldn't manage Project Porcupine, so koosemose (our new ceo/manager) started handling it.
However he didn't have control over the Porcupine Team only this repository which meant that he couldn't add children projects such as our localization repository or our debugger to Team Porcupine. So we have moved to a new location where all future development will take place so we can place multiple repositories under a single team or organisation (examples of these repositories were given above and are currently going to be a localisation repository and a debugger one).
Does this answer your questions?

And also to add no more development will take place in this repository only the new one managed by the OrderOfThePorcupine Team, feel free to open any issues or help contribute we need all the help we can get :).

Thanks, thats a totally reasonable explanation (although couldn't quill18 just give kossemose permissions for the whole TeamPorcupine)? I definitely will look if and how I could contribute to the project but at the moment I have only a linux system and as far as I can tell there is still no stable Unity3D available. But thats another point I wanted to know - do you provide a prebuild version of the game for different platforms. I would really like to "play" a bit (instead of just seeing it in a video) but without Unity I guess I have no chance? |
Quill wants to use the team for his own private purposes too and future projects (which is fair). There is a prebuilt variant available under releases but this is quite a bit old and is only a tech demo and really isn't playable without a cheat mode though feel free to download it and tinker around. There are many other ways you can also contribute if you want to get into it in other ways such as storyline discussions, art or music and bug reporting :).

We have now moved over to a new repository due to change in management, find it here
All future development will take place there.
