Memory usage

DnsService is taking up over 1 GB of memory on my Windows 11 machine. Is this normal?

Thanks for asking. If you have block lists configured then it is expected as all lists are loaded into memory. Each 1mn block list domain names in there take around 300MB of memory. It also depends on DNS apps that you have installed.

I do have block lists configured. It shows "3,108,427" for Block List.

So for 3mn entries, 1GB memory usage is normal. I do not see any issue here.

Different block lists often have the same entries. Do these duplicates get removed to a final list, saving memory space?

You're welcome. The number of blocked domain names you see on dashboard are after de-duplication process which is done while loading the lists in memory to avoid using more memory.
