Build Command

Hey, thanks for the link from the upstream SOH report. Whats the current build command and requirements.

I'm more than happy to do some testing and provide feedback and suggestions. Looking at the current state, there is in theory should be no reason why it wouldn't build on Linux without any major overhaul. I've currently got a Linux build environment set up.

Hey, found the linux build commaned but several issues are present at moment
GLAD doesn't work well with linux at all due to missing cmake config in upstream pacakges, recommended to change to glew. I've attempted changing this myself on a cloneed copy of the repo
Freetype and Curl fails when having the 'Config' defined in the find pacakges section of CMakeLists

Above changes does allow cmake to configure and build correctly but has imgui build errors on the make commands afterwards.

I remember some problems with vcpkg + CMake where it was supposed to install things automatically, but didn't install the way it should, and I had to run vcpkg install manually.

I'll have to double-check my documentation, since I have been building with everything installed automatically, so some things may be different getting started without all of the setup.

After running some stricter compilation and some slight modifications, everything seems to work fine as far as I can tell except for a compilation issue in 11Zip. However, this is understandable as 11Zip is a little outdated.

I can now successfully build on linux also working around the 11zip compilation issue, it however won't run segmentation error which indicates unsafe memory access.

For the build, I am using a Distrobox Ubuntu container as my host os is Bazzite which is immuntable meaning i can't write at the system level where system packages are installed.

Ubuntu System Package requirements
git build-essential cmake pkg-config autoconf autoconf-archive automake libtool python3.12-venv libssl-dev libsdl2-dev

I got around the 11zip compilation error via the following edit on your projects CMakeLists.txt
Adding
set_property(TARGET minizip PROPERTY INTERFACE_LINK_DIRECTORIES "")
Below
add_subdirectory(external/11Zip)

Not sure if this breaks anything with the windows build but I would advice adding the mentioned line and testing to see if windows produces anything different

Got the runtime working with above post details, was missing the 'libsdl2-dev' system package before vcpkg builds the sdl2 local package, edited above ubuntu requirements.

I've run into a whole new issue, having the runtime running for about 2 minutes, it completely froze my system, i've tried it multiple times, same results. This means there is a massive memory leak somehwere in the code

The memory problem seems to be with the fact that the images for the thumbnails are unintentionally being recreated into memory every time the program updates, meaning it starts consuming memory quite quickly. I did notice that the program would lag sometimes, but I thought that it was related to some other problem. I'm going to create a new sub-issue to address and fix this problem.

It's all good, my Linux System is on a older Laptop which aint my daily use so it's perfect for testing and development on the Linux ecosystem.

Regarding the above linux build fix and documentation for Ubuntu based Linux distro building. Did you want me to update this in a forked repo and than create a pull request through to you?
