Validate updater reporting no asset available

Problem description

When doing #727, I wasn't able to update Validate from the CLI. When I looked at the Github response for https://api.github.com/repos/getodk/validate/releases/179158403 in a browser, I see the assets array. However, it was excluded from the response I was getting when using the updater tool. I don't see any evidence of the API changing or some header being needed to expand assets.

Is this just happening to me?
