Forwarding from bot's direct messages

Hello,
Thank you for the bot, its great. I would especially like to note the web interface, it is very handy.

Could please anybody help with the following questions:

1. Is it possible to run the web GUI based on https?
2. Is it possible to forward the messages sent to the bot directly by users, to the destination group. I need some "gateway" bot, which will post the content the users suggest to the specific telegram group.

Hi, thank you for using this, i know tgcf still needs much polishing and more features, just wait until the dev gets active back to this project.

1. Yes it's possible, but one idea that i can think of is to use local port forwarding, which any incoming requests from https port 443 is forwarded to the tgcf-web port 8501. You might have to deal with iptables or some http proxy for workarounds. I agree the port actually should be an option to be specified by users, but currently it's not changeable.

2. If i correctly understand, you want an option so that the users can tell the bot to forward to a specific groups, right? If that's so, then it's not possible. The bot is just a simple bot to just forward the contents of a group to a specific group. So the source and destination must be known beforehand.

Yep, exactly, I would like to create a public bot as it is intended to use for the local bicycle "flea market". This bot has good functionality, so I wish I could adapt it for my "pro bono" task 😄

I see, then my question is, how would the bot identify which channel to be forwarded to when receiving messages from a random user?

I would like to redirect all incoming messages to one specific channel and don't plan to change this point in future.

I see, currently there's no wildcard to represent any users, so the bot will rely upon a specific user ID. However, you could create an issue for a feature request and see if the author will implement it. A work around, is to create a public group where any user can send to, but that will make it non-private as user can see other users messages, and the lowest self destruct timer is only 1 day.

We already have the public group, where anybody can post their advertisements for the bicycle parts sale. There is quite a mess as the advertisements are being posted without any structure and templates.

My goal is to automate it, in order the advertisements to be posted within the same template. For example:

• photos of the bicycle part
• bicycle part information
• bicycle part condition
• region of country, where the seller is located
• price

I see, no problem at all. Easiest way is to force the user to follow the message template/format. Hopefully he'll help you with that 😁.
