Copying unordered list into markdown editor causes weird behavior #156
Comments
It's only unordered lists copied from sources outside of the markdown editor |
Behaviour on copy/paste from other sources will be highly dependent on the source (pdf, html, which page, etc). Can you please provide details so we can reproduce. |
This is one example of a bulleted list that causes the issue |
it looks like copying the line before the bulleted list makes the bug not occur |
@Michael-Grover Can you assign this to me? |
@Hanaffi what sort of things do you need guidance on at the moment? |
In the short term, I don't know. I think this Issue will take some investigating. |
I'm cleaning up old issues I created and it looks like this one hasn't been resolved, so I'm keeping it open |
Bug Report 🐛
Copying an unordered list from outside of the markdown editor into markdown editor causes weird behavior, including:
the bulleted list can not be escaped by pressing enter twice
The unordered list icon in the formatting toolbar is not highlighted
The bullets are not indented
Pressing the unordered list icon while highlighting a bulleted list that was pasted from an outside source results in the content of the list disappearing
Expected Behavior
If a user copies an unordered list from outside of the markdown editor and pastes it into the markdown editor, it should function the same as a list created in the markdown editor.
