Not sure if a different IV support can be added into it or not

I'm trying to use this repository in one of my production projects and I'm unable to use a different IV. All I'm doing is using a 16 character long IV but somehow, it keeps failing the checksum verification with a different IV.

I know I could be doing something stupid on my end which is making things go wrong, but can you try using a different iv and see if everything is working still as expected ? If not, is there a way to improve ?
