Which release. Aquila G32 with 3D Touch and Spider V3 hotend.

Looking for the right firmware. Machine is an original Voxelab Aquila G32 with 3D touch, looking to add Creality Spider V3 hotend down the road and want to make sure I am picking the right firmware.

I think it is Aquila_GD32_MP_UBL-05-18.bin224 KB3 days ago but I could be miserably wrong

And can I use the same firmware before / after the Spider upgrade? That is a future plan not a right now thing.

Yes this is the correct file for your current machine.

And if, when switching to Spider, you leave the current thermistor and simply push the bead into the supplied tube, then you won’t have to change anything.

If you buy some nameless thermistor, then most likely you will have to learn how to compile firmware from sources yourself :)

I'm probably tongue-tied, of course the Spider comes with a thermistor, but it's not thermistor number 1 (https://www.reddit.com/r/MarlinFirmware/comments/17wbd9h/how_do_i_compile_firmware_for_high_temp_allmetal/) "I've already contacted Creality to try and figure out what thermistor they ship with the spider v3 and they literally said they don't know what the part number is." :)

But the good news is that you can use your current thermistor bead by stuffing it into the supplied copper tube:

And don’t really trust me - for example, I would just throw away this bag of GD900 thermal paste because the closest thing I found about its characteristics is: Operating Temperature: -50~200C
Which is bad even for PLA temperatures.

And I have no experience with Spider - on my Aquila I use a cheaper high temp Red Lizard hotend

so far with an analogue of a standard thermistor, but I have already ordered PT1000, which has the number 1047, so I will have to compile the firmware myself :)

I have that same linear rail kit, it definitely improves print quality having rails

my experience using even decent thermal paste caused the thermistor to be stuck, like the stuff turned to concrete at high temps. what really is a game changer is Boron Paste all you need is the tiniest amount, you can see in the product video how little they use. if you do get some, just be careful because the stuff comes out fast, so push on the end very slow cause you dont want to waste it.

Yeah Boron is a thing, I didn't have it, but I try to keep up to date with the latest printing techniques :)

Not the MP one as that is for the BIQU MicroProbe.
Aquila_GD32_UBL-05-18.bin will be the one you will want.
