Whilst I could probably muddle through and figure it out it would be helpful if the readme had instructions for how to both generate the patch_instructions.json files (i.e. the command to run) and how to apply the patch files to a static repodata.json file as created by conda index

If the README is auto-generated a pinned HOW TO USE issue would suffice.

From @jjhelmus on gitter:

If you download the latest release of conda-forge-repodata-patches you can run:

conda index -p /path_to_download/conda-forge-repodata-patches-20200330-py38_0.tar.bz2 conda-forge

or

conda index --verbose -p /path/to/anaconda3/pkgs/conda-forge-repodata-patches-20200330-py38_0.tar.bz2 conda-forge
