Change Feeds block thread

In my opinion:

$feed = r\table('games')->changes()->run($conn);
foreach ($feed as $change) {
  print_r($change);
}

should not block the thread, perhaps some kind of option? If there's no changes, it should continue as though it's an empty array, allowing for other operations to be performed on a single thread or when using something like the Amphp library.
