MXmap has a successor: SecAssure2026 (source)
What started here as a solo map of ~2,100 Swiss municipalities grew into a team research effort covering ~15,300 municipalities across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with a new email-security scanning stage (DANE, DNSSEC, SPF, DMARC).
What this means for this repository
- mxmap.ch stays online, but its Swiss data is frozen as of April 2026 and will not be updated.
- No substantial development will happen here; active work continues in the successor.
- This repository will move into the mxmap org — GitHub will redirect all existing links, forks are unaffected.
For fork maintainers
Country forks remain very welcome. For new forks or upgrades, consider starting from the successor's 3-stage pipeline, which adds the security scanner.
Where to report misclassifications
The frozen Swiss data here won't be corrected anymore. Please check the successor's Swiss data first and report there: https://github.com/mxmap/secassure2026/issues
