I think I want to integrate #5195 before the final rebase to v2.47.0.

@krystian3w this has been mentioned time and time again in the Release Notes:

Git for Windows for Windows v2.47 drops support for Windows 7 and for Windows 8, as announced previously.

It was announced many a time. There are only very few venues where I can announce this, but the Release Notes present the best one, I only rely on readers to pay attention.

Windows 7 SP1 is past its end of life, it is not even mentioned in https://endoflife.date/windows anymore. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/windows-7-sp1-support-notification-7e0bbdd4-4370-5631-dbc0-71f70051c9f8 mentions that January 14th 2020 was the last date this version got an update.

So yes, it is totally expected that Git for Windows v2.47 does not work on Windows 7 anymore.
