Develop performance tests to compare speed of different search approaches

Hi,

I’d be interested in working on the performance tests for the different search approaches. I have experience with Python research workflows, pytest, and BIDS/HED annotations.

I could define representative search cases, compare runtime and result consistency, and keep the performance benchmarks separate from the regular test suite to avoid unstable CI results.

Are there preferred datasets, query types, or benchmarking tools you would like me to use? If the issue is still available, I’d be happy to prepare a PR.
