Excellent directions, btw. I followed them precisely except that I downloaded a more recent version FirefoxPortableESR_128.2.0_English.paf.exe. It installed okay. When I run it, it takes a while to start up but appears okay, then suddenly crashes. It wants to send diagnostics to Mozilla.

The console messages implied a problem with winbind, so I installed it.

Now it crashes with hundreds (thousands?) of different fixme: messages, some of them repeated many times.
It starts with

0644:fixme:seh:WerRegisterRuntimeExceptionModule (L"Z:\\home\\<user>\\wine\\FirefoxPortableESR\\App\\Firefox64\\mozwer.dll", 0000000000000000) stub

This is followed by

0644:fixme:process:GetProcessMitigationPolicy (FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, 4, 00007FFFFE8FF1FC, 4): stub
0644:fixme:process:GetProcessMitigationPolicy (FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, 12, 00007FFFFE8FF0DC, 4): stub
0648:fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION
0648:fixme:ntdll:NtQueryInformationToken QueryInformationToken( ..., TokenAppContainerSid, ...) semi-stub
0648:fixme:ole:CoInitializeSecurity 000071994F5FEFD0, -1, 0000000000000000, 0000000000000000, 0, 2, 0000000000000000, 0, 0000000000000000 stub
0648:fixme:ole:global_options_Set 00007FFFFF703F50, 1, 2.

And then two ole error messages

0648:err:ole:com_get_class_object class {17072f7b-9abe-4a74-a261-1eb76b55107a} not registered
0648:err:ole:com_get_class_object no class object {17072f7b-9abe-4a74-a261-1eb76b55107a} could be created for context 0x1

Then many, many, many screenfuls of various fixme messages and occasional ole errors like those above.
