Plays injects a .dll file into various processes. Plays does this automatically on open processes to determine whether or not that process is a game. However, when that file is injected into Microsoft Store products (such as Office or Word), this error tends to pop up.

This issue is better described in this repo issue for your understanding. I will summarize the steps to resolve this issue with Plays below:

  1. Navigate to the %LocalAppData%\Packages folder
  2. Search for kind:folder name:plays-ltc
  3. Delete every result

However, this is a temporary fix. If you continue to use or startup the conflicting Microsoft Store processes, this will happen again. If you could list some Microsoft Store Apps/processes that you use often or which you think are the cause, I can put them on the non-game's blacklist to prevent this from happening again in the future. Please provide name of the app/process and the full executable path. You can find this information from the task manager.

Sorry, I meant to provide the exact names (ex. 'xboxoverlay.exe') of the possible Microsoft Store app/processes of which you think could be the cause.

Would i be able to identify the apps by seeing what "programs" it makes a directory for? As in the ones i just deleted? The error pop-up did disappear and didnt come back yesterday but i didnt play anything either. In my head if i open a app that causes the error i would also find a new folder directly related to that app, no?

The folder will always link back to something along the lines of MicrosoftOfficeHub, at least that's what I have noticed, so I don't think you would be able to identify what it was that caused it. If you do find some other details however, let me know.

I'll have a talk with my somewhat more IT savvy friend about locating the excact .exe's that are causing my errors. Do you want me to give them on the discord so this ticket can be closed or is it okay if it gets left open? The folder will give me a slight inclination as to what it is though, "microsoft office hub" would naturally point me towards any microsoft office program and not towards i dont know CCleaner.exe for example
