Mac issues: disappearing colors and slow runtime (as compared to ubuntu 16.04) #32

vim version the mac : VIM - Vi IMproved 8.0 (2016 Sep 12, compiled Nov 10 2017 20:07:49)
latest calendar-vim plugin.

question; this app crawls very slowly on mac but runs speedily on my ubuntu linux computer. any ideas why the discrepancy?

in addition i see colors disappearing very shortly after loading
