@youxiaojie I'm not aware of any newer kernel than 2.6.* for the readynas duo. The sparc/infrant cpu requires a special patched libc which is the main reason why you can't just do a debian distribution upgrade.

If you want experiment in terms of upgrading I would recommend looking at https://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ .

Maybe other people can share their experience as well.
