Since the normal ↵ does nothing it would be nice to execute the selected shortcut via AppleScript.

Are there any plans for this?

that's an interesting idea. the goal was just to help people learn shortcuts quickly and find the ones they need that they don't use often.
if you can create a PR, I will be happy to look at it and merge it.
