Joystick device

What joystick device does this create, and is there a way to easily change it without recompiling(i.e. to /dev/input/js3)?

I have 2 physical joystics, and I'm trying to create a 3rd fake joystic to prototype a button box.

This is the closest I've found, ideally I just need a dozen or two buttons that aren't on the kb, and aren't mouse buttons to use, so there's no overlap.
