When building on macOS from scratch using the Makefile the build fails because the Makefile the SDL and X11 headers are not found.
This happens when one uses the SDL.framework files rather than a manual install of the SDL: the Makefile tries to use the "sdl-config" executable which is not included via these framework files, so it fails to set the proper include and link paths.
This dependency is not apparently specified anywhere, maybe it would be worth mentioning it somewhere in a BUILD or INSTALL document so new users know where to fetch the SDL and X11 and where to install them for the Makefile to find them.
