Sketch Meaxure not including artboards which are also symbols in spec export

Issue:
When using the spec export tool, it does not carry through any artboards that are converted to symbols. Sketch measure included all artboards, either converted to symbols or not. Is it possible to add this into meaxure?

Context:
This ability was incredibly useful, as in my instance (creating a full design system / all screen instances in an operating system) it meant I could create a powerful workflow like this:

1. Build master screen layout using asset symbols on artboard 1.
2. Convert artboard 1 to symbol.
3. Place symbol instance of artboard 1 onto artboard 2/3/4/5etc, to speed up process of showing various layouts of master screen by using symbol override capability.

This meant any major layout changes could be very quickly updated by simply updating the master symbol. Sketch obviously still does this, but now if I try to export the spec for the devs, any screen that is a symbol is not included.
