Move Electron Remote calls to ipcRender.invoke() #140

(Depends on Electron 7.0)
It is suggested to avoid using the remote module of Electron for security and performance issues. Electron 7.0 has some new functions to use instead.


  • Replace all remote calls with @electron/remote
  • Standardize a way to organize communications between main and renderer process (IPC)
  • Refactor requests like remote.app.name and remote.app.version so that this data is available when the app loads. Maybe store this info in Vuex Store?
