Feature Request - encrypt files when stored on the local filesystem

I was searching for a way to encrypt files when stored on the local filesystem; I saw that there was a request #201 about this but it was closed with no further feedback.
Can it be reconsidered, please ?

This would be a great addition.
As we run plik on docker, we actually store the data on an encrypted lvm volume. But this is a pain.
