All of the NCI VMs have 10G root disks. The current workaround to stop it from filling up entirely is by squeezing the journal. /etc/systemd/journald.conf has had the settings added:

SystemMaxUse=500M
SystemKeepFree=200M

Even then the disk is 95% full which seems precarious.

a) are other flavours available with larger root disks
b) if not, can we add a small volume for /var?

Some space has been freed on this VM - it is now around 70% with 2.8GB to spare. Leaving it open, but this is no longer a high priority issue.
