We already have a set of long-short env sfx per biome. The environmental sfx will need to be triggered by the procedural generation engine.
This can be a simple API, like:
import metaversefile from 'metaversefile'; const {environmentSfxManager} = metaversefile; environmentSfxManager.setSfxEnvironment('lava'); // enable environmentSfxManager.setSfxEnvironment(null); // disable
Internally the system should loop the long/short sounds randomly.
