Commit is blocked and requires multiple retries

First of all, thanks for a great extension to Visual Studio. I still prefer this over the 'Team Explorer'.

I'm not sure if this is an issue or just the way Git works.

Whenever I've navigated 'Git Bash' into the repository I'm not able to commit and get this error instead.

'Team Explorer' is actually able to do the commit in this case.

I'm also getting this error without 'Git Bash', so perhaps it's because of 'Team Explorer'

Same here. I'm also getting error in my Visual Studio 2019 (Community Editon). (Windows 10 Pro), git version 2.21.0.windows.1

@yysun I find this issue still there (Jan 2020) (Visual Studio 2019 Community Edition 16.4.3).
