You play Elite Dangerous and have heard of EDDLite (or EDDiscovery) - and ended up here. So what is it?
In short it's a 3rd party tool that can track your Elite Dangerous travels, combat, trading, rank etc. It shows you a log of events, shows you a precise of your current situation.
It allows you to upload this data to the following sites automatically to keep them updated with your exploits
- Inara
- EDSM
- EDDN
- IGAU
It also allows you to go directly to the relevant page on EDSM, Inara, EDDB, Spansh for your system and location. You can go directly to Corolis or ED Shipyard with your current ship build.
It has a screen shot converter to allow the .bmp files to be converted to other formats automatically.
EDDLite is Elite Dangerous Discovery little brother - it builds on EDD technology but provides a simpler and smaller solution for commanders wishing to have just these features available. It also used much less memory since it has a lot less features:
- Data storage is less than 1MB on your C drive.
- Memory use is <50MB
- Does not store user logs or star data on your disk so it has low disk usage - perfect for your HDDs.
EDDLite works on the PC. Unfortunately Frontier does not or cannot support the API required on XBOX or PS4 to output journal entries to the PC for us to use.
Download and install the .exe - run it. It will scan your journal folder and show you the commander data
The main user interface consists of:
- Commanders list
List of all commanders found on your PC. Double click on a commander to edit their data and enter the information that Inara/EDSM etc need.
- Status area
Current status of your commander
- Screenshot area
Shows current screenshot.
- Log Area
Showing you events as they occur from EDD.
The areas relative sizes can be adjusted by hovering over the split between them and dragging the resizer. This allows you to hide the area completely, or change their relative proportions.
Use the Config menu Screen Shot Converter to configure the screenshot system system.
You can also configure time representation: Game time, UTC or local.
You can also clear all DLL permissions to reset the list of allowed or disallowed DLLs.
This allows you to:
-
Toggle showing the Game Time on the display
-
Select a different presentation theme for the program
