Movie script with narrator
Narrator: [What is RailsGirls Summer of Code?]
RailsGirls Summer of Code helps women get into Open Source projects.
RailsGirls Summer of Code is similar to Google Summer of Code and Ruby Summer of Code, but it is also very different.
Just like in Google Summer of Code and Ruby Summer of Code there will be those three well known roles:
Mentor: There are projects that define goals and tasks. Projects also name mentors. Mentors are experts for the project and they give feedback and direction.
Student: There are students who work on these goals for a few months. The will be paid so they are free to focus on this.
Company: And there are companies who donate money so the students can be paid.
Coach: Unlike those other summer of code programs we will have an additional role: Coaches who ideally can sit next to the student and give support, motivation and encouragement. So, mentors are domain experts for their projects. Coaches help students learn and achieve their goals.
[Interlude]
Narrator: Doesn't this sound like an awesome idea?
We will make this happen!
[What is the goal?]
With RailsGirls Summer of Code we aim to make at least one RailsGirls student a Rails contributor! At least one student a Rubinius contributor. A Sinatra contributor. HacketyHack and Shoes.
And we hope there will be many, many more great projects so we can help many women get started in Open Source.
[Call to action]
