The fourth mainline electric train for the American region rebalance/expansion: the EPL-7 'Longship', based on the EMD AEM-7. This electric locomotive is available starting in 1978, has a top speed of 100 mph, and a power of 4000 hp. As with the other OGE electrics, it's more expensive to purchase and run, but has decent reliability compared to the EP-5 and the final OGE electric. Additionally, it is the first mainline electric locomotive to be restricted to passenger and mail cars only, both for historic usage and balancing sake.
