Bicycle Market Analysis Project

This repository contains an Excel 2016-based analysis of bike sales data, exploring various demographic factors and their relationship to bike purchasing behavior.

Project Components

  1. Original Data: - Contains raw sales data including columns for ID, Marital Status, Gender, Income, and other demographic details.
  2. Working Sheet: - A cleansed version of the original data with refined values and additional categories such as Age Brackets.
  3. Pivot Table Worksheet: - Features pivot tables analyzing average income per purchase, commute distances, and customer buying propensity by age category.
  4. Dashboard: - An interactive dashboard providing visual insights into the data, equipped with slicers for dynamic filtering.
  5. Lookup Queries: - A tab dedicated to dynamic VLOOKUP queries that allow users to retrieve specific data points.

Data Cleaning Steps

  • Duplicates removal.
  • Standardization of categorical fields (Marital Status, Gender) using Excel's find and replace.
  • Income values were normalized.
  • Age categories were defined using nested IF statements in Excel.

Advanced Excel Features Used

  • VLOOKUP Queries: Interactive lookups like finding income based on customer ID.
  • Pivot Tables: Analysis of data dimensions such as income and customer commute.
  • Visualizations: Bar charts and line charts demonstrating various sales metrics.
  • Slicers: Enhanced filtering options for interactive data exploration.

Usage

To use this dashboard effectively:

  • Utilize slicers to filter data across various dimensions like education, marital status, and region.
  • Use the Lookup Queries tab for specific data retrievals by entering the required information in designated cells.
