Delay mechanism is very useful with long running commands. In some cases retry attempt happen too fast and it's not enough to fix eg. networking issues.
I guess target branch is incorrect, but there is no separate branch for old version of Doctrine. If everything will be fine, then I will create another PR for Doctrine 3.
