Hi, I'm Kamil Wróbel 👋

I'm a full-stack software engineer based in Poland. I build and evolve business applications end to end — from domain modelling, backend APIs, and frontend workflows to system integrations, cloud infrastructure, and delivery automation.

My strongest commercial experience is in the TypeScript ecosystem, particularly Node.js, NestJS, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Strapi. I also work with Python and FastAPI, especially for data-oriented and life sciences projects.

Recent work has included modular commerce platforms, high-volume data synchronisation, external system integrations, observability, and infrastructure automation. I also contribute fixes and specifications to Open Mercato, an open-source commerce platform.

What I focus on

  • Designing full-stack applications with clear domain and module boundaries
  • Building maintainable REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Integrating business systems and synchronising data reliably
  • Developing practical React and Next.js user interfaces
  • Improving existing systems through testing, observability, and incremental refactoring
  • Automating infrastructure and delivery workflows
  • Exploring scientific and data-heavy applications with Python and FastAPI

Core technologies

  • Backend: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, Python, FastAPI
  • Frontend: React, Next.js, Vite, TanStack Query
  • Data: PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, MikroORM, TypeORM, Alembic, Strapi
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS, GCP
  • APIs and security: REST, GraphQL, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC
  • Quality and delivery: Jest, Playwright, pytest, Ruff, GitHub Actions, CI/CD

Selected work

An open-source, modular commerce platform. I contribute framework fixes and specifications based on real integration and order-management requirements.

A full-stack TypeScript monorepo built with NestJS, Next.js, PostgreSQL, TanStack Query, and Playwright. It demonstrates modular backend design, role-based access control, packing strategies, automated tests, and CI security checks.

A local bioinformatics workflow platform combining a Python CLI, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Nextflow, FastQC, and MultiQC. It runs an end-to-end quality-control workflow and records its metadata and report artifacts.

A FastAPI and React application for importing sequencing quality-control data, classifying samples, and reviewing run-level metrics through dashboards and reports.

I care about software that is understandable, testable, observable, and maintainable — especially when it sits at the boundary between several systems or domains.
