Bundles suites with a new gargantuan head (pure-Luau JSON encoding, sentinel-framed print), spawns the engine with --script --headless, and decodes stdout with the lune/lute machinery. The engine cannot exit on its own, so the done marker is the completion authority and the CLI kills the process after it. Configured via [gargantuan] binary; excluded from watch mode and CI auto-enable.

After the done marker the head asks the engine to exit itself with ProcessService:ExitAsync(0), pcall-guarded twice over: older engines throw on GetService, and the current engine's ExitAsync raises due to an upstream argument-index bug. The CLI grace-waits three seconds for a clean exit before falling back to the kill; the padding loop stays for engines where the exit is unavailable.

it and describe become callable tables carrying it.only, it.skip, it.todo, describe.only and describe.skip, so the destructuring line at the top of a spec keeps working. Focus resolves per run without mutating the registry: skip beats focus, the name filter narrows first, and focus only engages when a focused test would actually execute, so a bodyless or skipped .only cannot silence a file. test_skip gains focusExcluded and run_end gains focusUsed, both additive on protocol v1. --forbid-only fails the run when a focus modifier is committed. BREAKING CHANGE: xit is removed. it.skip replaces it with the same signature, so migrating is a rename.
