1. Installing Unity and the Android NDK SDK

Installing Unity is trivial, but acquiring the correct development kits for building Unity applications to Android might not be. As of the version of Unity used to build and test the software (2017.4.1f1), downloading the "most recent" or "recommended" SDK/NDK package will not result in successful builds.
