Most new versions of OSX require some type of authorization for running apps that are not downloaded directly from the Apple store.

Generally this is done by going to:

  • 'System Preferences' -> 'Security & Privacy' -> 'General' (tab)
    • Unlock the lock at the bottom of the page (system password is required).
    • Under 'Allow apps downloaded from:'
      • select 'Anywhere'.
      • OR (if not available) select 'App Store and identified developers'.

Depending on OSX version:

  • Run the app again and go back to the 'Security & Privacy' page and click 'Allow Anyway'.

If that doesn't work, here are some google results:

Note that at this time we do not have the resources to keep up with Apple verification procedures. We know this places an extra burden on our users (having to manually authorize, etc.) and if someone wishes to handle the task of getting ANTz regularly Apple certified, that would be great!
