Update subscriber info
A GOOSE
and Sampled Value
are services defined in IEC 61850-8-1
, IED 61850-9-2
, respectively. These services can be configured whithin a SCL file. Both the sending end and the receiving end can be configured - acting as the publisher and subscriber, respectively.
Sending end configuration means creating a GOOSE control block GSEControl
and connect this to a DataSet
with the attribute datSet
. The DataSet
contains all the data, including functional constrained data attributes FCDA
, that is sent with the GOOSE message.
The receiving end - or subscriber - is defined using the SCL elements ExtRef
(external reference) and IEDName
.
The IEDName
element is located in the publisher IED
and contains a reference to the subscriber IED
(s). It is optional and therefore not implemented in all tools.
The ExtRef
element is located in the subscriber IED and contains a reference to the data attribute that is used by the subscriber.
NOTE: In Edition 2, attributes have been introduced to the
ExtRef
element to identify the control block carrying the information. Previously, this information had to be parsed from the publisher IED.
The function Update subscriber is designed to address this. With this feature, you can add the missing IEDName
elements into an SCL file. To utilize this feature, follow these steps:
- Open the project you want to update.
- Navigate to Menu -> Update Subscriber Info.
- Check the log to see how many
IEDName
element(s) are added to the project.
The algorithm works as follows:
- Get
ExtRef
. - Find connected
FCDA
. - Find the control block connected to the
DataSet
of theFCDA
. - Check if the
IEDName
information is in the control block. - If not, add it.
NOTE: In Edition 1, only the IED name could be added to the
IEDName
element. With Edition 2 and higher, you can also add the path down to the logical node level.
